GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q. What's the difference between intuition and psychic ability?
A. The primary difference is one of degree. We commonly think of the intuition as a strong feeling, instinct, or gut reaction. Intuition is usually more accurate than we recognize, but it can sound fuzzy or unclear like hearing someone talking in the distance. It's more of an impression than a precise insight. Everyone has intuitive feelings, but as a culture we've trained ourselves to ignore them. Psychic ability, on the other hand, is the refined use of intuition. It is more active and precise. Psychic insight requires you to focus your intuition without the distracting clutter of random thoughts. You have to train yourself to quiet your mental hustle and bustle in order to hear that distant voice. (Actually, it's not so much distant as it is quiet.) This requires practice, trust and, very often, training.
Q. What will I get out of a psychic reading?
A. A Psychic is a person who is sensitive to vibrations and/or spiritual forces beyond the physical world. They are able to "pick up" and interpret these vibrations and based on the information they receive, they can tell you the current path you are on and how this is leading to your future. A psychic reading may give you further insight into a situation you are seeking guidance for, and perhaps show you obstacles and choices you didn't realize you had.
You are capable of then determining if you want to change your path or continue based on your free choice in life. (Christ consciousness is a term the Christian tradition has used for intuitive knowing or the realization or attainment of high consciousness. The pure level of consciousness in which the mind, love, and will of God are made known to the enlightened person.) Intuition: The direct knowing or learning of something without the conscious use of reasoning which results in immediate comprehension and understanding.
Q. If you're psychic, why do I have to ask you any questions at all? Shouldn't you already know my questions?
A. A good reading requires that you both participate. The more aware you are of the issues and questions that you have, the more effective the reading. Your mental focus helps guide the readers' inner vision to pinpoint the information you need right now. Without a focus to the reading, the reader will still receive pertinent information, but not always in the specific area you hoped for. Remember, you are not a passive participant in the reading.
Q. What is a clairvoyant?
A. The word clairvoyance comes from "clair," meaning "clear" and "voyance," which is seeing or vision, and means "clear vision." A Clairvoyant is one who has the ability to see that which cannot be perceived through the physical sense of vision, using the Third Eye, psychic pictures and color. We all have this ability and all, with practice, could learn to see the "unseen." The word clairaudience comes from "clair," meaning "clear" and "audience," which is hearing or listening, and means "clear hearing." A Clairaudient is a person capable of "psychic hearing", one who is able to "hear" vibrations that are outside the range of the human ear. They are able to listen to guides or spirits directing or communicating within. Another 'Clair' word, clairsentience comes from "clair," meaning "clear" and "sentience," which has to do with feeling or sensing something. A person with Clairsentience has the ability to "feel" energy and non-physical matter.
Q. What are the Akashic Records?
A. The Akashic Records (from Sanskrit) are thought to be the indelible record of all events and knowledge that is part of the Cosmic Consciousness. Everything that has already happened or will come to pass is believed to be part of the Akashic records. They are sometimes referred to as the Universal Mind in which everything is stored. They are also past memories of other lifetimes kept in your subconscious mind. They are the lessons you have learned, and the lessons you still need to learn. It is a permanent record of all deeds you have done, good and bad. It is also a record of your attitudes and character, as well as the conditions under which you have lived.
Q. Who are my guides?
A. It is thought that we all have Guides, spiritual teachers who are not in the physical realm. They may range from recently-departed souls whom we may have known here on earth, to beings who have never experienced an earthly incarnation. It is believed that Guides choose to assist us with our earthly journeys as a way to serve and further their own evolution as souls.
Q. What can you see by reading my palm?
A. The lines on the palm, the shapes of finger, and the condition of nails can relate, to the experienced reader, scientific information as to character, emotional attitude, plus past and future experiences. The reading of palms dates back as far bac as the year 3000 BC.
Q. What do you see in my Aura?
A. The Aura is a semi-invisible energy field which surrounds persons, places and things. This atmosphere contains energies of color that depict how you are feeling and what psychic energies you have. The colors of the aura change according to a person's emotional state and thoughts. Every living thing and every physical object has an aura. Many people are able to see the auras of trees, animals, rocks and other inanimate objects in addition to the human aura.
Aura balancing is a technique for clearing, smoothing, or harmonizing the auric field around a person's head or body.
Q. What is a Chakra?
A. Another Sanskrit word (literally meaning wheel), Chakras are subtle energy centres located near the spine in the body. A chakra is a wheel of energy. Popular teaching indicates that there are only seven main chakras in your subtle system, which relate to the stages of evolution and the endocrine system. Once awakened, they begin to vibrate. Physical, mental and emotional problems are capable of being traced to an imbalance in one or several chakras. Those who can see them say they are trumpet shaped with a round front. Chakra's receive non-physical energies from the world around, and transliterate them into information or spiritual nourishment. They also serve as a psychic link between the physical and superphysical states of consciousness.
Q. Chi?
A. Chi (chee) is the Chinese word for the energy or natural life force, which comprises the universe. Also called Ki ( kee-Japanese). There are many types of chi - external/outer/universal chi, and internal (inner) chi which is associated with the human body. When internal chi is balanced and flows uninterrupted the mind/body will promote health. It exists in many forms, from pure forms like light to more dense forms like minerals and rock. It is said that the interplay of opposites between opposites (yin and yang) creates chi energy.
Q. Why should I use affirmations?
A. Affirmations are positive statements in the present tense which, when repeated daily for 21 days, re-program the subconscious. They affirm or assert something to help manifest it in the physical world.
Accuracy and Free Will
Q. If you foresee something in my future that I don't like, can I change it? Is my future fixed?
A. Life has an open door policy. There are an infinite number of ways to approach life's challenges. This needs to be clear: You control your life. When future events are seen, they are the most likely results of the current momentum in your life. Momentum is spiritual velocity, the course we set forth by our motivations, intentions and beliefs. Any momentum you have created, you can uncreate and, ultimately, change the final outcome.
Q. How accurate are your readings?
A. Questions about accuracy are often based on the assumption that your future is fixed. Let's say a psychic predicts that a major shift in you career will occur in about a year. But when that year is up, you find yourself at the same job doing the same work. You'd say the prediction was inaccurate, right? Unfortunately, it's not always so simple. Accuracy is very important in a psychic reading but, in your life, free will is supreme. Many psychics don't usually see an unchangeable, predetermined event. They may see the patterns at work in your life and how and when they are likely to manifest into certain events -- if your current momentum remains unchanged. So, at the end of the year, when you're still in the same job, you might tell yourself that the psychic was inaccurate. But, then, two months later that promotion still comes through. Will you remember the psychic's prediction then?

Q. Why are some people psychic and others aren't?
A. Psychic ability is often referred to as a gift. But this can be confusing. It's not that some people are given this gift and others aren't. Psychic insight is available to all; it is an attribute of the soul. Like reading, writing and arithmetic, it is a basic life skill. As easily as we think, we intuit. Sometimes we complain that there are no guidebooks on how to live a soulful, meaningful life. But, when you were born, you were given intuition, a built-in guide and advisor. This is everyone's gift.With practice and patient determination, you too can tap into this ability.
Q. Why can't I see what you see?
A. There is no reason you can't. Many people have psychic insight, but they don't recognize it or know how to translate what they see. The language of the soul is imagery, and like learning a foreign language, it requires study and practice.many of the psychic readers at BHA offer some good techniques for developing your own abilities in Psychic Development. Several of those on this site offer classes, as well as many others in the BHA directory.
Q. Are psychics more spirtually advanced than other people?
A. Not necessarily! When consulting with anyone for any service, always use discernment.While psychic ability requires the understanding and application of certain metaphysical laws, advanced spirituality is not really a requirement. I think you'll find that most psychics are interesting, compassionate and ethical people with a spiritual focus in life -- but not always! Psychics are people too. We face all the life challenges everyone else does.Don't turn off your discernment because you're talking with a psychic.
